AT NIKE, WE BELIEVE DIVERSITY DRIVES INNOVATION

Expanding the visual identity of the 2022 Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), a set of digital assets was developed to extend the program's presence onto the Nike Career Site—serving as a destination for applicants and amplifying Nike’s commitment to inclusive design and talent discovery.

A custom tertiary illustration system supported the SWDC microsite, helping to elevate the broader careers platform and offering candidates a unique, immersive entry point into Nike’s creative ecosystem.

Designing a catalyst for change

Forty applicants participated in a national design challenge—ten were selected to become apprentices at Nike’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, spending seven months designing a capsule collection alongside Serena Williams and Nike’s design teams.

To extend the reach and visibility of the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) 2021 program, a set of digital assets was created to establish a dedicated microsite on the Nike Career platform. Tertiary illustration elements were developed to complement the core identity and bring the experience to life online.

The microsite served as a key storytelling and recruitment tool, helping to elevate Nike’s career site while offering underrepresented talent a distinctive entry point into the brand’s creative culture.
